Gather ‘round the craft table for a Halloween themed night full of spooky scribbles and self expression. As we create together, we’ll open up space to talk about our fears and explore how mental health and artistic expression are deeply linked. Bring your own creative project or use our supplies. We’ll have spooky coloring books, construction paper, colored pencils, glue and scissors.
🧡 All are welcome, no artistic experience needed. Just bring your curiosity, your craft, and your Halloween spirit! Costumes encouraged but not required.

Supporting Artists, Amplifying Voices
At BLOC Foundation, we believe every artist deserves the chance to share their work without financial barriers. This resource page highlights resource opportunities to exhibit in galleries, helping local artists connect, grow, and be seen. By sharing these resources, we aim to make it easier for emerging and established artists alike to access spaces that value inclusivity, accessibility, and free expression. Art is a powerful form of dialogue, and when artists have equal access to show their work, our entire community benefits.
Art League Houston invites artists working in all media to submit proposals for their upcoming exhibition cycles. This open call is designed to provide artists with the opportunity to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting, gain exposure, and connect with the Houston arts community. Submissions are being accepted August 1 - October 31, 2025.
Lawndale Art Center’s rolling open call accepts proposals from artists and curators year-round (Jan 1 – Dec 31). Lawndale encourages a wide range of media and practices, emphasizing contemporary and community-focused art. Selected artists receive gallery space and support to present their work to the Houston community, making this a valuable platform for local, regional, and national artists.
Fresh Arts maintains an Artist Opportunity Board that features multiple open calls for visual artists and creative professionals in Houston. This resource provides a centralized place to discover exhibitions, grants, residencies, and other professional opportunities. Current opportunities on the board have deadlines through October 31, 2025, making it a helpful tool for artists looking for timely calls and programs that support career growth, exposure, and connection to Houston’s creative ecosystem.
Sesh Coworking Artist Residency is designed to support women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ artists, offering a platform to create, exhibit, and connect with other creatives. Submissions are open November 15 - December 10, 2025, and approximately 3-5 artists are selected for a 12 month residency. Residents receive free membership, exhibition opportunities, and access to studio space and community resources, helping artists gain exposure while working in a supportive, inclusive environment.
MidtownHOU Arts Micro-Grants Program provides $2,500 for individual artists and $5,000 for arts organizations to support creative projects that inspire long term community engagement. Ideal projects go beyond one time events, encouraging sustained cultural growth within the Midtown area. Individual artists and arts organizations proposing projects in Midtown.
